In the Waldorf model Kindergarten is mixed-age (4½–6½)

The first year (younger kindergarten) focuses on imitation, rhythm, play, and foundational life skills, and extended outdoor learning. The second year (older kindergarten) deepens those rhythms and introduces more responsibility, longer stories, and activities preparing for Grade one.
